Kira Isabella may be Canada’s answer to “what’s new in New Country?” She’s recorded several singles that are attention-worthy, notably “A Real Good Radio” and most recently “A Little More Work”. Her recordings display more country than pop for some, and more pop than country for others, but that formula hasn’t hurt Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood, and it certainly won’t harm Kira’s chances for success. More than a pretty face, and considerably more than a pretty voice, she sings material that is radio-friendly, hook-laden and memorable. With talent like this coming up through the ranks, Canadian music is headed for mainstream success in world markets. Yes, we think Kira has what it takes to lead the charge for success outside this country.
The astonishingly young (18!) performer earned accolades by winning the 2012 Canadian Radio Music Award for Country! where she wowed the audience at the award ceremony with her performance of ‘Love Me Like That’. Kira has been nominated for the 2012 Rising Star Award at this year’s CCMAs and will perform on the award’s broadcast on September 9.
